We Talk To The Man Behind The Horror Novel 'Flu'
Name : Wayne Simmons
Website : http://waynesimmons.org/
I fall into madness and talk with the main man behind the popular horror novel ‘Flu’, Mr Wayne Simmons. Wayne was born and raised in Belfast until moving to Cardiff. ‘Flu’ is his main best seller currently with the sequel ‘Fever’ just launching. He mentioned that mostly he writes Zombie-Horror, however he has a wealth of experience in different topics.

Wayne said “I have been writing ever since I was a kid and started off with super hero stories”. As a child he created a short story which he then buried in his garden hoping in a few hundred years would be uncovered. (You never know it could happen!) Professionally writing since 2008 he has been a massive fan of the horror genre and that truly shows in his latest work. “It’s amazing getting involved in something you love so much”
I pushed a little further and Wayne was happy enough to tell us a bit more about what he had on display. With him at the exhibition he had his main titles ‘Flu’ ‘Fever’ ‘Doll Parts’ and ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous’ I particularly liked Doll Parts which features a ‘Twisted Zombie / Vampire Hybrid’ plot and in his words. It’s his contribution to the femme fatale story.

He also divulged some information about a cyber punk story called ‘Plastic Jesus’ which he couldn’t go into too much depth but we do hope to see more of it in the future as it progresses. If you are curious check out the website for more details at Waynesimmons.org
Words from the wise for all you newbies out there: “Be realistic. Keep your feet on the ground and be genuine. I write what I write because I’m a fan. If you’re not a fan it will show in your work. Always be true to what you want to do” - Good words from the pro himself.
