Gamers Would Pay Over The Odds For A Early Digital Copy Of Black Ops 2

Turns Out More Than 70% Of Gamers Would Be Happy To Digitally Download Black Ops 2

Several discussion boards and polls later it turns out more than 70% of hardcore gamers which we asked would be quite happy to digitally download Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 a week before release if they had to pay £5 more than everyone else.

Yes you read that right! We have asked numerous gamers who love and adore the Call of Duty franchise if: Activision charged £49.99 for a digital download of the game a week before release date would they buy it. This would mean that the gamer would not have a physical copy of the game, instead it would be saved to their Xbox360, PSN, or PC Account but they would be able to play the game online a week before anyone else.

Regardless of the fact that they would be un-able to sell the copy on and or get a refund for the title they would still leap at the chance.

These are just few of the responses that we had when we actively asked gamers from around the world what they thought.

If Activision was to offer a digital download for black ops 2 then they would seriously have a buying market for it. This brings the question to mind why haven't they offered this before? Maybe they're not allowed to. However this does raise the fact that people are willing to pay over the odds simply to play a game early regardless of it being a physical or digital copy.

Surely this is just one of the things to come with the digital era slowly dimming the lights on retail and physical copies. As soon as one publisher offers this kind of content then most gamers will jump aboard for fear of getting left behind. Well here at Chaos Hour we like our physical copies and we will be sticking with them until we have no option.
