Space Babe 113 Episode 2: The Lirka

This Tale Of Space Age Debauchery Will Have You Gasping As Your Innocence Fades Away In An Abundance Of Nudity

**WARNING: Space Babe 113, Episode 2 contains scenes of sexual nature. May not be suitable for younger audiences or aliens and robots with an aversion to naughty-fun things**

The Comic Book industry. One of the most exciting industries in today's market, with an ever growing audience which includes all ages, all genders and even extraterrestrials. Okay maybe not extraterrestrial but Space Babe is definitely making heads turn with 'Space Babe 113, Episode 2: Lirka'. Created by Mr John Maybury, Space Babe is an intergalactic babe who works as a catering officer aboard the space ship Marco Polo, but does Episode 2: Lirka see the rise, or fall of Space Babe?

Space Babe 113, Episode 2: Lirka follows Space Babe and the crew of the Marco Polo, a space voyaging vessel across the stars in name of the 'European Space Force'. Joining her is a collective of weird and wonderful characters which fill this series with delights when it comes to imagination. For example, Rince Cycle is an alcoholic laundry officer who gambles away all his money; then you have Star, bitchy friend of Space Babe whose snide remarks will always encourage a giggle or two. The Marco Polo has an assignment which leads the crew to discover the Lirka, an asexual alien race made up of ant-eater like creatures which have no desire for human porn, and it's their mission to make them think otherwise. Might I just add, the Lirka are awesome.

What follows is an entertaining science fiction comedy which is deliberately raunchy and exciting at times to encourage the reader to carry on. The comic is persistent in its writing and it never manages to lose its momentum, until you come to the last few pages and then you will realise how much you actually enjoyed reading it. The dialogue is constantly in bite sized chunks which also helps Episode 2: The Lirka in being super easy to read and understand.

The art style is very cutesy and 'chubsy'. Okay maybe 'chubsy' is not even word but everything has a very curved and sexy approach to it, which includes characters and details. Although most panels are missing an environment or backdrop, extra time and dedication has been spent on the character design which makes them all the more appealing.

Lettering throughout the comic is effective and very easy to read which is a must for all comics. However during certain panels it does lack impact which would have made the excellent writing and script a lot more effective at times. The comic is structured in a traditional way which features large panels spanning across most pages, some pages are broken up to reveal an entire page dedicated to the artwork which breaks up the comic in a welcoming fashion. The entire comic is completed with a grey scale finish which isn't a bad thing for all you colour loving people. It makes the art style scream across to the reader but it would be interesting to see a colour variant in the future.

Space Babe 113 Episode Two: Lirka is an excellent Sci-Fi comedy and would be an awesome addition to anyone who likes short tales of humour as Space Babe and her fantastic crew will drag you in and you won't regret it. John Maybury has succeeded in making a fantastic script for all readers to enjoy and for that he deserves praise. Chaos Hour hopes to see more from John Maybury in the future.
