Whilst out shopping the other day, I went past my local Lego store and something caught my eye - An entire section of Lego sets dedicated to the DC Universe. I must admit I have never bought a Lego set before, what with having no previous building experience and being a tad past the recommended age but as I am greatly obsessed with all things Batman, I thought I'd check it out. Boy was I glad I did!

They not only had a wide range of DC sets including Superman, Green Lantern and Batman but they also had various Marvel sets, focusing on The Avengers. All this was pretty awesome and all but I was transfixed by the Batman sets. Each set varied in size and price and then I saw The Dynamic Duo Funhouse Escape set and knew that was the one for me!
This set is to die for, no joke about it! A true must have purchase that's amazing value for money. The mini-figures are awesome and the model is incredibly detailed and easy to assemble thanks to the clear, step-by-step instructions, even a Lego newbie like myself managed to complete it with no trouble at all! Another bonus is that this set is a completely unique creation, whereas the majority of the other sets in this series are just remakes from previous Batman sets.

There is an impressive amount of different mini-figures included in this set, 5 in total: Classic Batman, Robin, Joker, Harley Quinn, and The Riddler! Each figure is incredibly detailed and most come with a two head feature that allows you to change their facial expressions. What is particularly awesome is that the lovely Harley Quinn is exclusive to this set. The only cons about the mini-figures are that The Riddler's cane just looks like a red crow bar and Harley doesn't have a weapon that she can hold. There are also 2 vehicles in this set, Harley's roller coaster cart and Batman's Batcycle. The cart travels well down the coaster track and there's a nice sense of motion and balance to the Batcycle.
Moving on to the actual Funhouse model itself, there are so many playability features that endless hours of fun are ensured for all ages. From Joker's rocking platform, the fiendishly disguised trap door, Harley's daring roller coaster escape on her cart through the Joker face swing gates and the menacing crane suspended above a barrel of Joker Toxin and a Joker Fish (Best animated series reference ever!) our poor dynamic duo simply don't stand a chance of surviving this fun house.

This set has fast become one of my all time favourite pieces of Batman merchandise that I own. It was a real joy to put together, has so many cool features and showed me just how much fun Lego can be. I highly recommend it to everyone, especially if you're a Batman fan. Even if Lego is new to you I say give this set a try because it's worth every penny and trust me, you won't be disappointed.
